Real-time multiplayer quiz game
Totem was a real-time multiplayer quiz game I created for Coorpacademy. Teams competed by answering questions on their own devices — each correct answer stacked a piece onto the team's totem pole.
The first team to complete their Totem won the round. The game was designed to bring a fun, competitive twist to corporate learning, turning training sessions into lively team challenges.
Built with React/Redux on the front-end and Node.js with WebSockets on the back-end, enabling real-time synchronization across all connected devices.
Each team raced to complete their totem pole. Correct answers added pieces, wrong answers stalled their progress. The first team to reach the top won.
Players answered questions individually on their devices. The team's collective performance determined how fast their totem grew.
When a team completed all 8 pieces of their totem, they won the round. Multiple teams competed simultaneously in a fast-paced race.
