A Facebook wishlist, built with friends

Overview

The Facebook wishlist

Yet another step on entrepreneurship — I joined four partners to build a web application for Facebook users. Cadeaux was a wishlist app deeply plugged into the social graph, letting friends discover, share and offer gift ideas.

I developed the front end and part of the back end, working side by side with four fellow ENSEIRB alumni. It marked the start of the Serendi adventure.

Features

What Cadeaux delivered

Social wishlists

Every user could build and share wishlists directly inside Facebook, surfacing gift ideas to friends and family through the social graph.

Graph API integration

Deep integration with the Facebook Graph API connected profiles, friend lists and activity — the wishlist felt like a natural part of the Facebook experience.

Full-stack delivery

Front end built with jQuery, Bootstrap and HTML/CSS; back end powered by the Play! Framework on Java. One team, one codebase, one shipped product.

Behind the Product

Credits

Play! Framework and Java on the server, jQuery and Bootstrap on the client, wired to Amazon and the Facebook Graph API to centralise gift items inside the social graph.
